What is music editing?
Sometimes referred to as music mixing, music making or music production, music editing is the process of merging individually recorded tracks into a single track.
In the past, this could only be done using expensive 4 track analog recorders, but today anyone with a PC and the right software can mix music and work with hundreds of tracks simultaneously - easily and at very little expense.
Even though mixing music usually involves blending dozens or more tracks together, the finished result will be two track stereo - and this is where the panning capabilities of audio production tools such as MixPad Audio Editor and MAGIX Digital DJ come in.
Modern mixing tools such as these allow you to introduce drums, guitars and other instruments, and just about any sonic element you can think of, to create rich, professional recordings of any genre of music.
