What benefit they get with it? Is it simply for fun or are there any monetary gains also or to just show their ‘skills’ to the world while remaining anonymous.

My PC was once caught by a dangerous virus which stopped every program from running & started deleting my files & folders. My antivirus software detected it but failed to remove it. It was removed then by another antivirus.

I now have antivirus, anti-spyware & firewall softwares installed at my pc with latest updates, but still no solution could provide 100% protection to our systems, I guess.
