Beyond RSS, podcasting and file sharing applications
First people started to upload all kind of data to their web servers. Then people started sharing data with napster, kazaa, etc. - OK, mostly music or holiday pictures, but now every hip data junkie starts to podcast a radio show about cooking or driving through the forrest.
Wired wrote about it, Google wants to do it (organizing this planets information and data) and we at tradebit are a little piece of that digital revolution as well:
The major task of our (internet) times is to organize the data. I personally think it is time for something beyond podcasting … think about “datacasting” for a second! Anyone can be a sender, anyone can broadcast data. We need formats and technology for that. Do not just publish your holiday pictures on your gallery site, publish them into their categories and places you want them to be published.
The image search of google is a nice example, but where is that stuff for ANYTHING?
I am sure we will see a shift in services and software applications into that direction soon.
The file system of the announced “Windows Vista” from microsoft is a good example, that the simple stuff (like a file system) should be looked at and be improved!
Maybe I will introduce the open standard FSS (file simple syndication) soon! Stay tuned!
