The thin red line between features and useability!
Sometimes it is better to roll out a product fast and leave out some features which would drive the time for development up by weeks or month. I wrote more about that here.
But right now, we face more problems, while tweaking this platform into the world our customers request. We firmly believe that an on-going development process is required for a modern Internet company, so we constantly create new templates, features and functions to make tradebit what our customers want it to be. The dark side of that process is, that you have to fit everything into the interface you provide and that could start to get complicated.
Tradebit now has so many little gimmicks and features, that users start to complain about the complexity in the member area. We have understood and try to improve that, too.
But now exactly that is a walk on a thin red line: shall we kick out features again? That does not seem to be a good idea, since some users came for these. So we will try to include more AJAX (interactive javascript and xml) to mutate the interface into a nicer one. That will take some weeks, maybe months, but we think it is worth it. Stay tuned for the report on that.
