Standards of data exchange
In the past serveral merchants contacted us, asking us to include their wonderful products into our digital goods index. Well, we LOVE to do that, but if these product lists are in strange formats like Word files or a text format that changes with new releases, it is just too much work to implement that!
If you have data, you want to distribute online, other people are happy to integrate that, because it means content (which is more king than ever). For companies like ours it is a great opportunity to bulk generate more pages of useful information around certain niches (like photos or certain places or songs of a certain style), but if you bring that content to your partners in formats that change on every delivery, we (and others neither) can not really work with that.
Manual work is expensive and we try to provide simple RSS or CSV import programs for our partners. These are formats, every webmaster should be able to work with!
