Service changes - please respond!
Dear merchants and partners,
allow us to write you an open letter this way… We are about to change some fundamentals on tradebit, especially the introduction of Google checkout as a payment for downloads will be a major shift in the next few days. We will also continue to change the layout and user flow during the next few weeks.
Here are the new conditions:
- Google checkout will only be available to the publisher accounts
- This alternative payment method will be used for all downloads with a price higher than 4.75 US$
- The publisher accounts will be heavily monitored to avoid abuse
- The publisher accounts will be tuned for product promotion, not for Ads anymore. That means, we will keep some software ads (like for Adobe) on the detail pages, but the horizontal top banner is history. That should kick any competing products away which have been displayed with Google Adsense.
- We will add more vertical channels for the publisher products and promote the publisher products on other domains and with more channel partners
- The file hosting accounts are no longer offered. Too many people abused it for warez and spyware distribution. We will provide you with an alternative soon, but first we must get our new structure fixed.
If you want your products to be promoted in our other channels, you should shift from the old packages to the new model. Please mail us, if you have questions!

Is this service change the reason why none of my eBay customers received their download links after purchase yesterday?

Mark, no - it could be, that we introduced a bug while changing something… could you get in touch with me via email, so I can look and find out, what is going on? The ebay integration should work as always
Mail me to puzzler[at]tradebit.com with references to this posting, please!

What will happen to my existing content? I have 700+ files that I sell from my own websites using tradebit for hosting and payments. You won’t delete everything will you?

No, old accounts stay untouched! We will try to streamline our product portfolio better and improve the help around it more!
