New features for April
Slowly the dust settles on the new commission model and the additional features we will roll out in April. Most of the merchants should have seen the newsletter and we will continue to post the progress here. Until April we do not roll out any new features besides bug fixes. Then the attack will start:
a) Conversion rates on the detail pages have been tested and we are not too happy with the results. We have used severalĀ layouts to check, how we can improve conversions. That will result in a new listing and detail page
b) The new rates have been published here
c) The affiliate system will be streamlined and much much simpler. Martin and I have been discussing the process and asked around, what people want.
d) Bulk groups: you will be able to add your files to groups in one fell swoop
e) Improved caching and more storage space will make the pages load faster
f) Publisher payouts will be weekly!
That’s it for now. We are deep in the code now and hope you will find tradebit a much cooler place, soon!

Hi Ralf, by “Conversions” do you mean the amount of people hitting a page that actually buy the product?
Also, you say…
“Files without a price are basically disabled, if you do not have something on sale on the system.”
Does this apply to audio mp3 previews, main images and thumbnails which obviously aren’t on sale? Previews are very important so I hope they won’t be disabled.
Regards
Leigh

Leigh - no, the previews, pictures and thumbnails are needed for promotion and we will continue to host these for free. Just for the people, who are abusing that: they will have a hard time!
I agree that previews are important. We will not just host these for free - we will make the use and distribution easier!
Conversions: YES… turning anonymous visitors into paying (and hopefully happy) customers!
