Backbone updates in progress…

I know - you do not like the techno babble... so, the summary first: Our provider is upgrading the cables and routers in the back, so it could come to hick-ups with tradebit, while you use it in the next days.

Here is the system notification from Softlayer:

-------------------
16-Aug-2012 5:01 to 9:01 UTC (12:01AM - 4:01AM 8/16/2012 CDT):
Contingency maintenance window if required to complete any tasks left over from ticket 4## which could not be performed during the previous two days.
-------------------
21-Aug-2012 5:01 to 9:01 UTC (12:01AM - 4:01AM 8/21/2012 CDT): Ticket 4##
During this event, the Legacy Planet DLLSTX7 (Plano Colocation) customer access routers will be migrated to the final configuration.  A separate notification will be sent to colocation customers to discuss service impact for those not utilizing redundant connections.
-------------------
22-Aug-2012 5:01 to 9:01 UTC (12:01AM - 4:01AM 8/22/2012 CDT): Ticket 4##
This is the fourth event in the series of events to migrate Legacy Planet Dallas distribution and customer access routers to a new routing policy syntax.
-------------------
28-Aug-2012 5:01 to 09:01 UTC (12:01AM - 4:01AM 8/28/2012 CDT),
29-Aug-2012 5:01 to 09:01 UTC (12:01AM - 4:01AM 8/29/2012 CDT), and
30-Aug-2012 5:01 to 09:01 UTC (12:01AM - 4:01AM 8/30/2012 CDT): Ticket 4##
This is the fifth and final event in the series to migrate Legacy Planet Dallas distribution and customer access routers to the final configuration.  Due to the number of routers involved, work will be carried out in a rolling fashion across all three nights.
===================
Impact Statement:
===================
During the scheduled times, customers may experience brief periods of packet loss or increased latency to the Internet as routing changes are made.  Additionally, there will be periods of time when a limited subset of Legacy Planet to Legacy Planet server communications will be disrupted.

So, there is no downtime expected, but not reaching tradebit for a few minutes is possible! Just so you know!
