Catalog update, contest winner and state of the site

We are busy. Sorry for letting you hang there for some while with the blog updates. We are on some background functions again and have a lot to do until October. Martin is pretty blocked for anything while he is deep in the code for the new subdomains. We want to roll that out in October - I have blogged about it a few weeks back. Until then, only minimal changes will see the light of day.

But we have now released the new "Browse Catalog" start page. We are preparing a new structure to clean up the MASSIVE amounts of products on the site. Especially the duplicates that are showing up for some searches (e.g. http://www.tradebit.com/G/recipes). These have to be filtered and checked for quality. That is a never ending work process in the back.

Yet it started and you should know about it.

The second announcement is more of a positive one. We started a contest about 4 weeks ago to win a trip to Las Vegas and a ticket to the great Pubcon conference (where I will be speaking as well).

The contest ended today and the tickets go to Trish from Portland... Thanks for tweeting, etc.

Now the rest of August is blocked with some minor updates again and I am online for the rest of the month. As always: urgent bug fixes can be done right away, but you have to mail us, what is wrong. The code behind tradebit gets massive and finding the little creatures is not always easy!

Stay tuned, we are on it!
