I regularly speak on conferences. Mostly when I am invited by friends in the online marketing business who I worked with or if I think I can contribute to the specific topic and successfully pitch for a topic.
This year I have been on 2 conferences so far and my daily job on tradebit prevents me from going anywhere until October. But there are 2 fantastic conferences this year, I will not miss.
The first gig will be on Pubcon in October in Las Vegas. There have been a lot of discussions about the approach of Brett Tabke, who is the mastermind behind the conference.
Pubcon started off as a casual gathering of the geeks who posted on WebmasterWorld.com - around 50 in the beginning - and became the original conference of SEOs and online marketeers throughout the years. Many of the geeks and old-school Google spammers have been complaining about the commercial nature, Pubcon developed over the years.
As a snobby geek myself, I can understand - but in order to bring the secrets of real good online marketing to the masses, you have to rent bigger spaces, invite and pay certain people and offer some kick-ass presentation venues for businesses to support the size of such a conference.
I think Brett and the team around Pubcon prepared a new level of conference this year. There will be crazy, there will be commerce - yet there also will be the opportunity to network with the doers... If you are in the States, Canada and probably in the UK - take a peak on the pricing and venues under the link I pasted.
Come and network!
The second conference is pretty young. It is the SEOkomm in Salzburg. Sounds weird and small and out of your reach? Wrong! The two very smart creators behind the SEOkomm are probably the best SEOs and online marketeers in Europe. They are so well connected that you will find the complete "Who-is-Who" of European online marketing on that event.
For some of you in the US it might make little sense to come over - a lot of the presentations will be in German. Yet - if you have an international company and want to start or expand in Europe: The SEOkomm is probably the best place to kick off.
I will dig deep on both conferences to show you backgrounds of tradebit. Real life, real time...
