Click Captain And The Net Of Tomorrow..
Since we started our hosting and sales platform early this year, a lot of things happened. We have been quite successful and cater to around 3.000 different people with different files today. The bigger players like streamload cater to a much bigger crowd, but they are also target a smaller feature set (maybe better than we do) for a more homogeneous group of users. Same with payloadz or bitpass on the file sales side…
I believe that “file hosting” and “sales of downloads” are just 2 sides of the same thing. The problem is to get the interface so simple and straight, that you can satisfy both crowds, which have a big part of feature requirements in common!
We have been investigating on a lot of technologies to provide the best features for all - a procedure, that is always complicated, or as my father always says: “you can not dance on 2 weedings”
Anyhow, we see a clear development roadmap ahead in the files distribution niche on the net. We envision an open standard for data distribution, like RSS and podcasting does it today already. It will be simple and it will rely on bandwidth availability for a huge audience - that is the reason, we are not where we could be, but the average bandwidth per user is growing and so does the demand for all kind of data. Interessting times, indeed!
