Skype, PayPal and effects on the industry
A few days ago, ebay acquired the internet telephony company Skype. The founders of Skype also invented the file sharing client Kazaa, so Skype was their spin off, to provide simliar functionality, based on the filesharing protocols and technology to voice communication.
The interessting part of that acquisition is, that people will be enabled to call out to any number, paying with Paypal. For us (tradebit merchants) this means, that more people will have a PayPal account and more people will be able to enjoy our digital goods download platform.
So we are quite happy to see that market grow so fast.
