Is captcha still enough?

When I was checking my mail a few minutes ago, I saw a bazillion comments, which looked like spam and it was! These comments came in quite quickly in a row. So, deleting was not a problem, but I wonder, if those postings have been done by a robot or a human being!

For the comments I try to filter SPAM out with the image verification (aka captcha), but the images are not very blury and maybe the low-lifes out there found a way to cope with them. Some friends already reported “captcha crackers” a long time ago, but I thought I take a niche one and I am safe!

Maybe I must change – blog spam is getting worse and worse :-(

I’ve been pretty succesful with the Askimet Spam-Blocking plugin for WordPress, you might want to try it. (And somehow your blog tells me the security code is wrong quite a few times, I had to rewrite my previous comment.)
