Skype 3.0 fights with Apache for Port 80

We really got used to Skype. It is just working and a good tool to keep in touch around the globe, exchanging hints and tips with friends. So I have been pleased to see Version 3.0 on the way and downloaded the application. Right after installation, my local XAMPP installation went dead. Localhost started to deliver blank pages and my development environment was gone…

The cause was Skype 3.0: by default, they try to use Port 80 as a fallback port for their communication and you need to switch that off in the options. Just in case, you search your eyes out, like I did: i post it here :), you can find the option in the configuration screen of Skype!

Using Tools, options, advanced, connections Skype tells me : Use port 35497 for incoming connections. The next line begins with a check box (unchecked) and then: Use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections.

How can I check if Skype is interfering with port 80 and if so how can I alter this?
