Windows Vista - my first steps
Ok, I have my brand now dual core monster under the desk, a fine GTS8800 in it, to squeeze the max out of Vista and everything setup now for over a week already! So far so good. Installation took quite some time and moving the mails and programs over some more. Now Vista is in place and I work with it, on it, errr… somehow in it 
Right now, I doubt that there is a need for the average user to upgrade, even not for the Gamers among you. Only a limited amount of graphics adapters really push the DirectX 10 model and there are really no programs exclusively for PC.
If you are a design geek and you like the fancy 3D effects on the Mac or on Vista you might also spare some Gigabytes for the new Mandriva Desktop “Metisse“, which REALLY folds the windows in 3D! A nice design study of user interface!

hehe, christian asked about the power bill (in german), but i want to answer that in english: my power bill is actually lower, because i switched 3 computers off and cleaned up the whole setup in the office to replace the older machines!
