One place for eMails: Thunderbird on OS X and Windows
It has been a nice weekend with finally some time to implement some stuff I always wanted to do. First of all, I have created a new USB package for Thunderbird and Firefox in one ZIP file, which is available here for free:
Thunderbird / Firefox for OS X and Windows
and the clue about that package is:
The OS X installation of that Thunderbird links to the Windows database of your emails. The same for Firefox. Now you would handle that package so:
Download and UNZIP the software to an USB device. You might do that on Windows OR on OS X. Then you go to the directory of your operating system and start Thunderbird. Config your email client.
Once you have done that, both installations will use the SAME DATA SOURCE for your emails. That means: all your stuff is there, no matter if you plug your device into windows or into mac…
I recommend an external USB drive with 4 or 8 Gig or more in a nice little format like these guys offer them:
which looks like a nice little email storage
I also recommend to back-up your mails every time you are back on your home work station! You may copy the whole WIN directory, that will include your mails and bookmarks! Mail me, if you have questions!
