Geek info: Fulltext search with Sphinx on MySQL
On the actual web monday in Frankfurt a.M. in Germany I speak about Sphinx - a search engine for MySQL databases. The server gives you a full text search engine which is much faster than the internal MATCH AGAINST statement of MySQL itself.
This presentation was updated quite a lot during the last 12 months and I have talked about sphinx on various conferences all over the world.
To provide with a few short snippets of configuration of this Open Source tool, I decided to release this PDF file to the public for free. I hope it will help anyone to find a quick start with Sphinx.
You can download the PDF examples here: MySQL Search With Sphinx
and the software itself from the coders here: SphinxSearch
at the time of this blog post, the final release of the server is near - keep up the good work, folks!

I just found my presentation in english on the german Linux Magazine server:
http://streaming.linux-magazin.de/archiv_froscon08.htm
They recorded the FrOScon presentation I gave about Mnogo and Sphinx. Both tools are great for web-search and you might want to watch either part - first 20 minutes is Mnogo, the rest I did a Sphinx demo.
