Oh boy: over 6 years have passed since I started "tradebit.com" - with a few sound effects from PartnersInRhyme and acidfanatic... It took over 2 years to make this platform profitable - on a shoe string budget and without any external investments. Now we are 5 more people, over 20 Mio. products on stock in 4 languages and Google finds more than 8.7 Mio. results for the artificial word "tradebit", which spawned 2 results because of typos in 2004.
We also had some new interfaces over time. 4-5 big changes, if I remember right - yet all done with minimum attention to detail by us geeks. Our best shot so far was done by Ben Hunt himself in 2008 but has decayed into chaos with the rapid expansion of the site in the last 3 years. Now it was time to get that new front-end done in-house with extensive care for detail to honor the different types of products we have on stock and the new developments around HTML5 and interface design (think: tablet, mobile, etc.)!
So, planning is in full swing and my good old friend and eCommerce expert Stefan Englert has already started to work with a web designer to make it all better. We have started a facebook page for tradebit and will update you on the progress once a week or so.
If you have some remarks about new features or stuff you want to have handled until the end of August: post it on the wall! Stefan is much better in listening to your wishes than I am!
