âOne State Two Stateâ met immediate critical acclaim when tracks were leaked to the mp3 blogging world in late Fall of 2005. Heralded as âyour new favorite bandâ by blogger Matt Jordan on his high-traffic blog, www.YouAintNoPicasso.com, The Light Footwork has been warmly received by periodicals and critics across the US. Within two days of the first blog mentions, The Light Footworkâs website had over 15,000 hits. By October 12th, The Light Footwork was the most blogged about band on the internet according to the tracking site elbo.ws which crawls through over 500 music blogs. Initial comparisons were drawn between The Light Footwork and Beulah, although others have found similarities with Pavement and The Unicorns. Beulah comparisons were inevitable as reviewers learned that Beulah members had joined Jay and Becca in the studio and played on virtually every track. Beulah fans were also quick to notice Jay as Beulahâs âtour internâ featured in the documentary, âA Good Band is Easy to Kill.â Despite these obvious comparisons, âOne State Two Stateâ brings a fresh and unique sound to the indie-pop world. Their vocal trade-offs, harmonies, powerful guitar riffs, and eccentric lyrics point to a bright future for this young group. Produced by Brandon Eggleston of Bear Creek Studios, and mastered at Golden Mastering, this album has the pedigree of an indie heavy-hitter.
