Linda Jones-Prince, was born with an anointed voice in
Brooklyn, New York. She is the daughter of Thelma M. Jones
and the late John C. Jones. Linda began her musical journey
with her father who taught her spirituals, hymns and
âcommon meterâ songs. The first song was âDown By The
Riversideâ at the age of 4, along with her siblings. The
vocalist range is very wide, with her repertoire consisting of spirituals to contemporary Gospel songs.
She has presented concerts at First Reformed Church, Bright Light Baptist Church, Brooklyn, New York,
New Star Baptist Church, Springfield Gardens, New York and Redeemed Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Florida. She was
a guest soloist on Cissy Houstonâs concert and the
birthday of Ida Mae Vandross;the mother of the late
Luther Vandross. Linda has appeared in the theatrical productions ,âThe Church Fightâ and âWaiting With Open Armsâ written and directed by Dara J. Bragg.
Linda has organized and directed the Childrenâs and Youth Choruses at The Bright Light Baptist Church, The General âChappieâ James Childrenâs and Teachersâ Choruses in Brooklyn, New York , The Dr. Ronald McNair Childrenâs and Teachersâ Choruses in Cambria Heights, New York (1999-Present)
She is a recipient of awards for her dedication and advocacy of the Performing Arts, The New York Fund for Education,Rachel Jean Mitchell Scholarship Fund, Congressmen Major Owens Recognition and Parental Associations.
Linda graduated from York College, C.U.N.Y., Jamaica, New York,earning a B.S degree in Elementary Education and
Adelphi University ,Garden City, New York with a M.A., in
Urban Education. She is an educator in the Department of
Education for The City of New York.
âThou Art My Godâ was written by Linda and is her debut single with a powerful vocal track followed by an uplifting instrumental version. The song gives honor to God for being in our lives. She collaborated with the renown musician guitarist ,Minister Jonathan DuBose Jr., for the âbirthingâof this CD. She is supported by family and friends for her dedication to the music ministry.
She is a member of Highland Church in
Jamaica, New York, Subash Cherian, Pastor. Linda is
married to Kenneth E. Prince.
There will be a new CD expected to be release in 2007
