Details:
Born in Chicago, Carol Williams grew up in rural midwestern small towns, always determined to find the voice that would fit her unique style of music.

Originally a (keyboardist) singer-songwriter, she belatedly found the tenor sax to be her calling. After 2 years at Berklee College of Music in Boston, she spent 7 years in Army bands before receiving a NEA grant as an instrumentalist.

She has recorded 2 albums of poetry-based vocal/instrumental works, plus appears on the album "War Stories" (Kimo Williams) as a featured soloist.

"Carol Williams", the self-titled debut album of singer-songwriter saxophonist Carol Williams, presents a cross-section of jazz, folk and rock, with original compositions that bring an earthy intellectualism to every-day life experiences.

On this 8-song CD, Carol Williams plays keyboards, saxophone, flute and vocals, accompanied by drums (Mark Walker) and bass (Steve Rodby).
