'Parhelion' is the new album from leading UK gothic act Libitina. Dark, angry, and intensely romantic, âParhelionâ is set to be one of the most exciting releases of the year, and is already attracting widespread attention on the UK scene amongst critics and music lovers alike.
âParhelionâ follows on from 2003âs critically acclaimed âThe Shadowlineâ to cement Libitinaâs reputation at the forefront of the UK dark alternative scene.
Engineered and co-produced by Reza Udhin (Inertia and Killing Joke), âParhelionâ mixes classic gothic guitars with modern electronics to stunning effect. With its emotionally intense and anthemic sound, the album marks another significant step in the evolution of Libitina's distinctive brand of music. Stand out tracks include the modern dance floor classic âSalvationâ, the Eighties-influenced goth-pop âEndgameâ, and the slower, intimate âAlea Iacta Estâ.
Best known for their classic dance floor track âGothic Peopleâ, a world-wide club hit, Libitina have toured extensively in the UK and have also played shows in Italy, Germany, Belgium, Finland, and Ireland.
The last year has seen Libitinaâs debut appearance on British national television, as well as featuring on several film soundtracks. Libitina have also recently remixed songs for Audio War (to appear on âUnder Enemy Controlâ on MOMT Records) and The Voices of Masada (to appear on Strobelightâs âNew Dark Age IVâ). The band are currently in the process of producing their first promotional video, working with a team of up-and-coming video artists to set a track from âParhelionâ to visuals.
