LEANNE DOUGLASâs musical journey has included 16 years in Nashville â but now sheâs back home in Australia and her star is ready to shine.
Leanne was born on the east coast of New South Wales into a musical family. Her father was a talented highland piper, but it was the electric guitar that captured Leanneâs young imagination, particularly the instrumental sounds of Duane Eddy, The Ventures and especially Hank Marvin of The Shadows.
By the age of 15, Leanne was singing and playing professionally. She became the first female artist to win the coveted Star Maker award, later winning the prestigious Australian Country Music Golden Guitar Award for Best New Talent with "Don't It Make You Wanna Cry," one of her own compositions.
Relocating to Nashville, Tennessee (Music City USA), Leanne formed a band that featured her growing talent as a lead vocalist and lead guitarist, enjoying great success during her time there. Her first solo CD, "Blue Heeler" includes ten instrumentals penned by Leanne, along with her three favourite Hank Marvin tunes.

The album was recorded in Nashville, and has a definite flavour of Music City about it.
