Details:
Leif Horrell committed his life to Christ in 1989 and began leading worship in 1991. Since then, he has been blessed with the opportunity of performing and leading worship in a variety of capacities, including being on staff with Young Life, an international youth ministry, Woodmen Valley Chapel in Colorado Springs, CO, Emmanuel Church in Johnstown, PA and currently at The Gathering back in Colorado Springs. He serves there in partnership with his wife Stacey who is a skilled sound technician.
In submission Leif has traveled many miles and been provided countless opportunities to share his music. One of his unique talents is the gift of adaptation; to styles, to venues, and to varying worship climates. This might mean a big full sound one night, but then âstrippingâ down the band for a simple set the next. Leif is also sensitive to the people he is leading and is able to adapt the musical style to whatâs appropriate. The goal is ultimately the sameâ¦to glorify God and to bring people into His presence.
Since 2002 Leif has had the extraordinary opportunity of being one of the worship leaders for the Steve Wingfield Evangelistic Association, based in Harrisonburg, VA. This is a team of people that travels up and down the east coast presenting the gospel at large evangelistic crusades. His current position as Worship Pastor at The Gathering allows him the flexibility to travel from time to time when he is called to do so. In addition to his musical talents, Leif has a presence and a disposition that make it possible for him to forge relationships with people of diverse ages, experiences and personalities. God has taken all of these gifts and used them both locally and globally.
The Leif Horrell EP - This abbreviated release combines Leifâs passionate songwriting with rich instrumentation, resulting in a worshipful listening experience. From the insightful âMoreâ to the rousing âGive You Gloryâ, Leifâs range is on full display in this collection of contemporarily crafted originals. Leifâs energetic and diverse approach to live worship translates to his recordings, and so while he continues to record, these songs provide an excellent sampling of his musical range and adaptability. The full length CD is scheduled to be released in early 2007.
