Details:
I've been singing and writing songs for as long as I can remember. During show and tell in elementary school, when the other kids brought toys and knick-knacks, I sang whatever song was on the radio. My first performance of an original piece happened by accident - in the 6th grade, students were picked at random to do the morning announcements over the intercom at school. When it was my turn, instead of reading the "poem" I told them I would read, I sang the lyrics.

I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior during a Joe English concert when I was probably 15 or 16. Nothing changed in my life, though - in fact, I spent my Sundays being the "perfect" Christian and the rest of the week getting into trouble. I couldn't accept the fact that God loved me and had plans for me. I wanted to go my own way.

So I did. I got married when I was 21 and thought that would save me - quit school to be a wife and working adult. When I realized I wasn't happy, I drank to try and change my circumstances. I drank more and more until I realized I couldn't stop. Until one day when I had to either change or die. And I wasn't willing to change me!

But God had other plans for me. I got sober and asked Him to change my life. And He did! The music started once more in my heart, and I have been writing and singing ever since. I was a vocalist with The Journey Band for 7 years, then with the Dogtrax Band for 1 year. God led me to work with the skywire project (www.skywireproject.com)earlier this year, and I'm totally psyched to see what He has in mind! In my spare time, I write and record music for my business, Specially Yours Music (www.speciallyyoursmusic.com).

I'm honored to be able to use the talents God has given me for His glory - recovery ROCKS!!
