ROCK: Modern Rock, ROCK: Emo
Details:
Leaving Araby draws from a broad spectrum of influences including Coldplay, Foo Fighters, The Beatles, U2, Blindside, Thrice, Taking Back Sunday, Switchfoot, and many more. They are passionate about creating music that has no boundaries. âNothing is off limits and that's the way we like itâ according to McIlvenna and Reynolds. The group was formed in October 2005, out of the ashes of two veteran bands when Chad Mcilvenna and Justin Reynolds decided to get together and work on a song together. With the help of drummer Zack Neal they got together to write their first song now known as "Armistice is a Dirty Word". Soon after this, the three of them decided that the material worked well enough to go forward with more writing and to officially form the band. Soon entering the picture to complete the line-up was bass player Derek Amos. From there L.A. set out to write and record their debut EP âSlightly South of Sceneâ. With the songs ready to be recorded the band decided they would trust the recording and production of their first release to veteran studio owner of The Odyssey Studio, Patrick Rives. Leaving Araby and Rives teamed up to create what they call âa solid first release and preview of what the group is capable ofâ. Stay tuned to Leaving Araby to see what the future will bringâ¦
