The sunny sounds of "everybody inside" feels like home. Liza, one of Wonder & Levi's first fans, said she loved the CD because she could just play it over and over. It's one of those CDs that you can listen to the whole way through--call it the flow or the vibe, it's just pure sonic comfort food.

Real life sister and brother due Wonder and Levi Russell originally hail from Alaska. The entire Russell family subsequently became globe trotters following a job change, and they soon called England, Montreal, and Thailand home.

The feeling of extreme displacment mingled with awe for each new "home" country contributed greatly to the album's hopeful, lost, optimistic, wondering tone.

"Ghosts" was written after a week-long scuba diving course on the remote island of Koh Tao in the Andaman Sea. It was the first significant time Wonder and Levi had spent with fellow English speakers in months, and a tentative romance had even flourished between Wonder and a young travelling Englishman. The ache of saying goodbye and severing the still-young bonds of friendship and adventure was frustrating yet inevitable. In the middle of the night, taking the train back to Bangkok, Wonder penned the chorus, "Farewell to the ones who've loved us / You can't walk all roads with your hand in their hand."

Wonder and Levi were also influenced by the lonely, sweetly simple style of Christian artist Fernando Ortega. They sent him their demo, and Ortega declared himself "impressed," and strongly encouraged them to pursue music.

Returning to the United States a few years ago has not made their music careers any simpler, as the siblings are now separated--Wonder in Washington, and Levi in California. However they continue to write and perform across the country, from music festivals in rural Washington to nightclubs in LA.
