in partnership with CDbaby
lo-fi non-commercial underground jazz/blues/folk/rock.
10 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Roots Rock, FOLK: Folk Pop
Details:
Renowned cult musician Frenchy Burrito leads the Folk Pistols through this offbeat collection of folk rock, jazz and blues.
This non-commercial band fights the rising tide of conformity, doing the independent thing with a straightforward, lo-fi delivery.
Some highlights of Frenchy's career include recording for Fast Folk Musical Magazine, performing on the gone-but-not-forgotten Commander USA show, and a Salvation Army PSA for the homeless.
Frenchy also became friends with the late Townes Van Zandt and hung out with him in Nashville, TN for a while. They ended up going on a road trip together in the late 70's from which Frenchy is still trying to recover from!
Frenchy's band was featured in director Tony Buba's movie "No Pets" (London Film Festival).
A note of interest for you art collectors out there - Andy Warhol's brother, Paul Warhola, did the artwork for the cover of the Strange Paint CD.
Limited edition release.
