Details:
Buy our CD- Red Light- Autopilot!! we are releasing it independently and spent a lot of time and money on it. We are very proud of the music we write and we hope you enjoy it.

Formerly Known is a forward thinking quartet out of Abington, Pennsylvania. Prided on originality, the band uses every extent of their abilities including (drummer) Sean Boyd's piano skills and (singer/lead guitar player) Jason Love's talent with the cello. Lead guitar player Jason Love consistently comes up with technically complex and above all beautiful guitar riffs that provide the basis for Formerly Known's songs. Many times his softer and melodic instrumentals transform into powerful textured sections once the band have created their parts.

After three years of writing and recording the band released their debut album, Red Light- Autopilot. RL-AP is heterogeneous experiment in modern rock. Several tracks push the envelope instrumentally of what can be done in the same time as a standard top-40 song. Stardust, Pattern Makers, and World of Ones are all impressive technical outputs and would be easily classified as progressive rock if not for their brevity and return to memorable choruses. Other tracks such as Revery and the Sun Forgot to Rise manage to offer some blistering rock that remains true to Formerly Known while Spotlight could be deemed a radio-friendly, Incubus inspired gem. The album contains almost every type of song imaginable as Formerly Known refuses to pigeonhole themselves into a particular genre. Essentially any track could be listed as a highlight as they are independently focused on accomplishing an original and varied style.
