(ID 1012556)
Great, intelligent rock music with elements of folk and electronic noise/loops.

13 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, ROCK: Progressive Rock

Details:
Having played together professionally across New England in music groups of varying styles since the mid-1990s, Jared Fiske, Seth Adams, and Ray Kingston are now committed to recording and performing their own unique style of music as The Folk Industry.

Combining elements of rock, folk, and electronic industrial noise, The Folk Industry is poised to release their long-anticipated debut album, Bridges and Payloads. The band's sound combines the intimate and dynamic music of singer-songwriter Jared Fiske (whose 2003 solo effort Flood the Foundation received favorable acclaim in the New England folk community) with the creative forces of bassist Seth Adams and drummer/programmer Ray Kingston. The trio has been working steadily in the studio on Bridges and Payloads since mid-2004, narrowing down a repertoire of dozens to an eclectic and gutsy collection of thirteen songs.

The diverse music of The Folk Industry has been compared to the pop sensibility of Coldplay, the live energy of the Dave Matthews Band, and the eclectic genius of Radiohead, but as always, music speaks best for itself...

Acclaim for Jared Fiske's Flood the Foundation:

Fiske's music is for rock lovers with a real appreciation for songwriting.
- Samara Marblestone, Collegian Columnist

[Flood the Foundation is] an acoustic stream of folk-rock led by Fiske's powerful voice.
- Charlene Arsenault of Worcester Magazine

I've never heard rock music so technical and detailed You can tell how much effort was put into composing the music and writing the lyrics.
- UMass Daily Collegian
