Fotamana combines classic Rock and Roll with reggae and african influenced
rhythms and melodies to create a unique and original sound. From the cornfields
of central Illinois, Fotamana emerges with the musical sensibilites that are reminscent
of some of the most prolific and talented bands of our time. After playing throughout
Champaign/Urbana, at such clubs as the Canopy Club, Cowboy Monkey, Mike and
Molly's, and the Iron Post, Fotamana has garnered a strong local following. They have also
opened up for Spearhead, Dan Darrah band and King Solomon's Grave to name a few.
Established in 2002, Fotamana has also demonstrated the talents by playing such venues as
Durty Nellies (Palatine) and Tommy's (Blue Island) and hopes to continue performing to
a larger and more diverse forum.
Aside from their live shows Fotamana has recently finished their first album
"One Soup Can" released in October 2004 and recorded at Pogo Studios. Their debut album, featuring former Mr. Blotto guitarist Bobby Georges, is a demonstrative collection of
Fotamana's eclectic brand of music.
