Waiting for ⦠FALB FICTION
is the title of the first, recently published CD by the young band FALB FICTION led by the saxophonist Viola Falb.

When Viola asked her fellow music students Philipp Jagschitz, Christian Wendt and Herbert Pirker to record a Demo-CD with her in January 2004, it was not primarily intended to found a set formation. Only after feeling the intensity of their improvisations, the excellent musical performance of the compositions and the special attention of all the participating musicians the idea of forming a permanent group was born.

The programme of the band are the fictions, experiences and memories of the saxophonist. Her compositions give the musicians the opportunity of moving between improvised and composed parts, newly interpreted jazz tradition and groovy young generation, catchy melodies and a complex sequence of chords. The experience of their music in concert is refined through the special interaction, the technically faultless performance and the excellent vibrations that develop within the band while playing together. Extremely diverse tone colours and a great variety of compositions create the character of this unique formation.
