SONDRESTROM, GREENLAND

This recording is of a live performance at the Caribou club in Sondrestrom, Greenland. You will hear talking from the audience in the background and hear Leroy mentioned several times. He was an enlisted man in Sondrestrom and he was doing the recording and interview. Leroyâs last name is not known. All the numbers were spontaneous in their presentation and for the most part the first time the Flo Dreyer Quartet had played this program.

The foursome with Flo and Fagle, Roland and Harold was a natural. Relying on their years of experience they played from their heart and from their soul, bringing to fruition their rhythmic ideas.

Though many years have passed the group has kept in touch and has remained good friends. The album is dedicated to all our friends we met on the arctic tour.
