Details:
john flanders, the composer of the album, also performs on all the saxes, (alto, tenor, bari, soprano) as well as flute and keyboards.

he has been fortunate to work and perform on the east and west coasts as well as some touring in europe where he cut some of his soul/funk chops performing with sam moore, solomon burke, billy preston, carla thomas and more.

john is a graduate of ohio state and currently works in salt lake city.

he has a great cast of players on "a prehensile tale" and the cd goes from classic fast swing numbers to outright funk and rock pieces.

there are also some fine ballads performed throughout.

some cuts are short thematic songs, and some of those are currently used on some national radio shows.

if you enjoy, the sax, as well as horn sections, this is a very good and fun album.

some find it the perfect upbeat music for any road trip.

(provided you have a cd player in your car!) the album has already recieved great revues and should be added to any jazz/fusion collection!
