Flying Taxi was a classic rock band from Central Iowa. During their history (1992-1997) they managed to rack up some local hits and regional airplay. The band was featured on WOI-TV, 107.1 KCCQ-FM, ESPN, and in other venues in the mid 1990s with their blend of fun, high-energy rock and blues tunes. Some of their hits included "Heisman Trophy Man", "Cyclone Jerry", "Sparks Fly", "ISUCFVMB" and others. The band was a favorite of the Iowa State Marching Band, and won honorable mention in the 1997 Iowa Motion Picture Association Awards.

Standard Fare was their first and only album release. It features 14 original tracks written by the band.
