This song was written about the plight of the undocumented Irish in America. All proceeds go to the The Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform (ILIR).
The Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform (ILIR) is fighting for the voice of the estimated 50,000 undocumented Irish in the immigration debate, which is currently being discussed in the Senate. There are fears that new legislation would permanently exclude Irish immigrants from the opportunities offered to earlier Irish immigrants.
Since its launch on December 9, ILIR has held a National Day of Lobbying in Washington and several Town Hall meetings in San Francisco, Queens, Boston, Philadelphia, Yonkers and the Bronx to rally Irish Americans in support of essential immigration legislation. More than 8,000 Irish Americans attended those events while another 300,000 have signed on in support.
