WHAT'S THIS NONSENSE ALL ABOUT?
Finding myself in a continuous war against time and circumstance I opted for a peculiar yet potent mode of offense.... Complete denial of their existence. Within this new ambience I find myself without restriction or tether. Free to receive and interpret my will at will. Uninhibited. Finding that control lies in perception, and THAT perception is unique. Unique to the individual with full understanding that the experience is neutral. That all experience is neutral leaving interpretation to the individual. Reaction to experience than becomes the catalyst for the birth of dynamic. This dynamic creates an energy and expulsion of this energy is essential. Achieving expulsion by filtrating said energy through action and emotion.
So how do I interpret this so that it's actually interesting?
With MUSIC my friend! Simple and unadulterated expression! The interweaving bends and twists of arranged sound.
In order to see my musical compositions further I acquired a few pieces of recording equipment thus enabling me to become both engineer and producer. Also ( vital and non-coincidental) I could work at my own rate. Ignoring time's touch by allowing me to learn the equipment and it's manipulation in a completely non-structured environment.
Wow sounds blissful what do you have to show for it?
In my eagerness I released the "Who needs a band?" EP as a sample off a metal record I'm currently recording. It has big guitars, big keys, big mouth, ect . I took a break after that to record an acoustic record because I try to do everything at once but usually just end up staring off somewhere. This year however I have much to accomplish! I hope to have the acoustic record out shortly ( I'm finishing the art concepts as I write) followed by a sporadic symphonic record I completed over the past month ( January.) I would like to have the full length metal record out shortly thereafter.
What's in a name?
Fighting the Unicorn is metaphor. It's blind pursuit of anything and everything invoking a peculiar and particular feeling. Absorbing life and interpreting it through artistic mediums with the intention that the pursuit or the end result will make some sense of the initial dynamic. It's the continuous drive of myself into myself. A lifelong experiment in extremity and beyond.
