SAM CRAIN has had over 30 years experience in bands of virtually all styles, not only as guitarist but bassist and keyboardist as well, and for audiences all over the US, in Canada and Japan. A graduate of Peabody Conservatory of Music with a degree in music composition, Sam has written a variety of classical works in most media from solo instrument to full orchestra. His CDs have sold throughout the US(including Hawaii!), and in Canada, Japan, France, Australia *, Hong Kong, Taiwan, England, Ireland, Germany, Russia, Spain, Norway, Finland, Sweden(on mp3.com)and Switzerland.
Sunny Side up is, as it turns out, my 16th CD. It's a compilation of things, some older some newer, basically falls I think in the 'jazz fusion' vein(sans the 'pyrotechnical' licks you often hear in this style of music)but makes a few unusual turns here and there. You'll hear a variety of guitar tone, from 'hard' rock solidbody-style to straight-ahead jazz played on an archtop, as well as piano, synthesizer, bass and drums(well, percussion). And some tunes I think are just plain pretty.
All the parts: guitars, bass, keyboard and percussion sounds were done by me. And I recorded and mixed everything too. So whatever you like or don't like about this CD you can credit or blame me with, I guess. Hope you enjoy "Sunny Side Up".
