Details:
"Great songs!" - Carol Young / The Greencards

"Well everybody's got their favourite way,
They move across the floor.
And there are even days when my feet,
Don't even touch the boards.
And Fred Astaire may tip his hat and call my name,
As I go gliding through the doorway in the rain.
And it's just, one, step at a time,
And you'll be leaving those old ways behind."

It's been a long road, but like any worth travelling, full and rich! "somewhere north" is his debut album, and many are saying it's come at the right time too!

Why "somewhere north"? Born and bred in the australian outback, up "north" in the desert lands...now living in England...and that's got to be "somewhere north" as far as his homeland is concerned!

As he says, "All my songs are true stories. I can't really write fictional lyrics, stories about exotic down-and-out characters, so I don't even try anymore. Anything I might begin, changes as soon as I open up to what the song is trying to say."

These are songs we can all relate to; songs about growth, change, conflict and resolution ... the simple wisdom of common sense.

"He took to the headlights, like he took to the sun,
It's harder to walk, than it is when you run."

"I was lucky," he goes on, "I played with people whose music I loved, and who have gone on to do great things in the Australian music world: Paul Kelly, Greg Champion, James Black, Andrew Clermont, Steve Berry ... But at that time I chose to do something else - and I ended up spending a lot of time raising kids, fixing houses, growing tomatoes and teaching!"

What now? "Well this is just the beginning of a whole new chapter. There's a lot more where these songs have come from and I am looking forward to it like waking up to a brand new day."

"At night I close my eyes and step into the street.
Iâm in my sleep and in this town,
Which as a child was everything.
The mystery of my memory which weaves a perfect seam,
Has sown itself into my soul,
Which as a child was all a dream."

"Craig's songs are original but familiar at the same time. I hear Beatles & Crickets along with a few other animal and insect sounds! He comes across as a true artist and performer in his own right. Listen for yourself...." Chris Cook (New album LIVE!  So - Low)
