CORAL was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and at the age of 16 began performing in the underground scene, composing her own music, lyrics and playing guitar. Drawing on influences as far ranging as Joan Baez to the Rolling Stones, CORAL decided to assemble a band and record her debut album. She self-released her first album in the Summer of 2001 and sold more than three thousand copies throughout Argentina. In 2002, she relocated to South Beach and was exposed first hand to America's thriving Latin Rock music scene.
LA TERCERA (POP ART/EMI)
Coralâs third production will be released in Argentina in November 2005.
LA TERCERA includes 11 tracks, 8 spanish, 3 in English, that resumes Coralâs journey from her times in Argentina to the strong musical influences that cosmopolitan New York City made on her.
The Record was written, recorded and produced in New York City, with the partcipation of some of the most promising producers like Itaal Shur (Santana, Robi Rosa), Pete Miser (Dido), among others.
MTV Español have choosen Coralâs music video âABRILâ as a Buzz worthy Video!!!!
CORAL worked diligently to expand her fan base in the U.S. and since her arrival has traveled the country playing topflight clubs, festivals and award shows. She has played to packed audiences at NYC and Miami mainstays such as The Town Hall, S.O.B.'s, and Joe's Pub (NYC) and the Bayfront Park Theater and Macarena (Miami), performed at the Super Bowl's Opening Party and rocked outdoor music festivals like the Argentine Festival in Miami and Quilmes Rock. CORAL has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with such musical luminaries as Bebel Gilberto, Andres Cabas, Julieta Venegas, Vicentico, Soraya, Volumen Cero, Radio Mundial, and legendary jazz great Mark Whitfield, among others.
As a songwriter, CORAL's name has become increasingly recognized in writer's circles after some notable collaborations with artists like Volumen Cero for the single âAutosâ; the upcoming EMI artist Ness for the Spanish version of "More Than Thisâ; and co-writing the Spanish version of "When Will You Love Me?â for Brenda K. Starr.
Currently, CORAL resides in New York City. She is hard at work on her next English album "POCKET SONGS" collaborating with Itaal Shur (Santana, maxwell, Robi Rosa, among others)
