Featuring a variety of eclectic instrumental sound works.
9 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Goth, JAZZ: Weird Jazz

at{AT}, prep. [AS.aet], 1. on; in; near; by: As at the ...
Created from the Conveniens studio recording remnants, AT
takes eclectic to an extreme sounding like a compilation.
Yes you have John Maz-drums, David Sterling Smith-keyboards again, but pulling the band in different directions is Tom Jonusaitis, brains of the Bonemen Of Barumba {the notorious Chicago post-punk band}.
Tom appears on three tracks: Zinozydeco-accordion, Amityvilelvis-guitar, Urbanpolygyny-keyboard. An intresting note: John Maz is the drummer on a Bonemen Of Barumba EP, track; Toombah For Ronnie.
Also appearing on AT is Ted Blood Buchanan: Egartibra-saxophone. Teddy is known for his appearances on Chicago's WGN Bozo's Circus with The Buchanan Brothers Trio {the height of his childhood career}.
Both Tom and Ted can be heard in tighter format on the Conveniens Clear LP.
SURAB-Conventional straight ahead dance beat {bar us spelled backward}.
TONSURE-Ethereal landscaping (a special haircut}.
ZINOZYDECO-Cajun spsce cowboy.
AMITYVILELVIS-Dedication to Elvis {his excessive promiscuity}.
DIYDDIYD-Somewhat rhythmic new age.
URBANPOLYGYNY-Urban culture at rush hour {traffic jam}.
NELLIMONK-Nonrhythmic textural drums and piano.
EGARTIBRA-Improvisational sax piano drums {arbitrage spelled backwards}.
INTERVIEW-Speaks for itself.
Outside of David Sterling Smith's entrance into new age{Diyddiyd, Tonsure} there are three redeeming cuts to Conveniens AT:
Urbanpolygyny, Jonusaitis brings in the dissonant hardcore sound while Maz takes an Alvin Jone's Trane approach.
Nellimonk, a texturalized conception of improvisation, piano and drums. Possibly the best artistic work Smith and Maz have ever done.
Interview, in a radio station recording interview which wasn't working out, Smith and Maz took over. Manipulating the tape recording turning it into a work of musique concre'te, then giving the interviewing DJ {Dave Anton} an author credit!
