Adventures to the unknown - whether sky above, ocean depths, highest peaks, polar ice caps, or human capability - are amazing. Cosmic Curtain and the Wings of Apollo grew out of a desire to tell the story of a grand expedition without words. Can you see the journey in your head as you listen?
The creative idea was simple - with a collection of interconnected musical gear, make music driven by a single source. Use live recording, no overdubs, minimal production, and create and record sounds simultaneously.
ABOUT THE RECORDING...
The original concept was to hunker down in the studio, compose and record the entire CD in a day. In actuality, it was recorded over the course of about a month, a song every other day or so. Wings of Apollo was recorded live, each song as a one-shot â when you hear multiple sounds simultaneously â thatâs what your ears would have heard live in the studio at that precise moment. Post-production was kept to an absolute minimum. The signals were: Radio Shack DP-4073 (CASIO) 88 key digital piano; MicroKORG; Yamaha QY-70; Yamaha QY-10; Boss GS-10; Line6 Toneport UX2; Behringer UB-802; Sony VAIO VGN-A150 laptop; Mackie Tracktion.

Many men and women made history so many years ago in one of the most magical voyages mankind has ever undertaken â they gave Apollo wings. They remain my heroes.
