I recently sat down with Stevie K to talk about his music, "The Cosmic Genital's". To give his fans a little background, Stevie first commented on todays rock world. He said, In music today and for a long time, rockers lack emotion, intensity, consistency and most of all imagination. Hell, I have the imagination of an 11 year old and I cherish that". He also commented that there are no real rock leaders anymore. "Todays music is all about big time money, big time hype and big time technology, everyone trying to be louder, harder and faster than the last! But, not better! He calls it big time bullshi_. He goes on to say that todays artists are forgetting about the ups and downs, the groove, the heart and soul. I asked Stevie about his musical influences, he replied , Although I've liked many artists/bands over the years, only one comes to mind - The Beatles. He says that they are old but the music still amazes him. He hopes that it shows in his music. He closes this area by saying there were five Beatles, there were two George's-George Harrison and George Martin. Martin of course, their producer (a huge part of their music). He also states what they lacked in technology, they made up for it in heart and soul. I finally asked Stevie to comment a little on his new debut CD, "Emotional Tampon". It's a great CD, it's all good, from beginning to end. It's an emotional roller coaster ride,with a very positive approach. It actually started out to be a solo project but it turned out so good, I felt I had to put a band together. He goes on to say everyone that has listed to the CD, from music producers to many rockers, young and old, have given it rave reviews. Everyone likes it for different reasons, different songs, he finishes by saying, just give it a listen all the way thru, you'll be hooked. Currently, Stevie is also negotiating a record/animated video package with a major label who also has given this project rave reviews, especially for his unique vocals, style and great song writing. Stevie wants to put animated videos, complete with his own cartoon characters, and cool story lines with each of his 18 songs from the CD. He wants to do something different and memorable. Well, I listened to Stevie K's CD entitled "The Cosmic Genital's- Emotional Tampon" and I must say I was truly amazed. Among my favorites were: "Tonight My Love", "All", "The Boot Song", and "She's Wicked Bad", just to name a few. They are all great in their own way.
