Philadelphia, PA: Philadelphia-based band-- the CABIN DOGS (formerly the Kwait Brothers Band)-- have teamed up with Woodstock Records (home of the late Rick Danko, Garth Hudson, Buckweat Zydeco) to Release ELECTRIC CABIN. With nine tracks of original Cosmic American Blues (plus a cover of Neil Youngâs One of These Days), the new album is the latest from the song-writing team of twin brothers Rich and Rob Kwait (who have released two previous albums under the name Kwait Brothers Band (2000âs Hillside and 2002âs Outland Disco). Their earlier work (both as a live band and in the studio) has drawn favorable comparisons to seminal groups such as The Band, Grateful Dead and Buffalo Springfield, and the new album stands to build on this sound and bring the CABIN DOGS national attention.

Recorded and mixed in a yellow farmhouse at the foot of Hurly Mountain (LRS Studios â outside of Woodstock)- this album is the first to be recorded outside of Philadelphia and the first to use an outside co-producerâ Aaron âProfessor Louieâ Hurwitz (who has worked with The Band, Rick Danko, Mercury Rev, Graham Parker, Tony Trischka, Livingston Taylor to name a few). âWe decided to do the whole record in upstate NY with Professor Louie,â explains Rich, âpartly to work a little outside the norm for a Philly band, and partly to capture some of that funky upstate vibe that we felt in the mountain cabins where we wrote most of the album.â

The result is Electric Cabin -- the premiere release from the Cabin Dogs -- and the further development of a sound described by some as Cosmic American Blues or simply Cabin music.
