Details:
Carl joiner is an accomplished musician, writer, producer, bass player and arranger. Carl was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, third generation musician straight from the seat of the soul of blues and gospel music. His background includes television, radio and stage plays. He has traveled as far as Japan with various bands and has opened for many great talents throughout his career such as, War, Marilyn McCoo, Cheech and Chong, The Platters, Kenny Rogers, Isley Brothers, Sly and Family Stone, Larry Graham, Ink Spots and Buddy Miles.
Rowan DeSantis with the Portland Music Project walked into the Columbia Double Tree Lounge to do a review and said Carl was the âbest kept secret in Portland, Oregon.â She had never heard him before and in her review she talks about the releasing of his first CD titled, âA Better Place.â His voice lit my ears with smooth, gutsy, deep, full, intelligent, emotional and sensitive tones, he can sing anything.â A Better Placeâ falls into the category of Rhythm and Blues, sort of. How do you put a label on such a wealth of sounds and Inspiration? Itâs funky, jazzy, bluesy, soulful, uplifting, lilting and beautiful and is dedicated to his beloved late mother.
