Details:
Formerly known as LAST RITES, this band's extensive history goes back to 1986. This was the year that they recorded their first Demo. They were ALL in the armed services (mostly Air Force) stationed in, or around, the area of Frankfurt, Germany. Founding members Cris D. Corridino (Dino), and Dan LaMantia (Duck) started the band, and at that time, called the band BRAINSTORM. They soon found themselves stateside, stationed at Whiteman AFB, Missouri, and looking to recruit a few new guys to carry on with the path they began to musically blaze. After "honorably" exiting military service, they soon regained their original drummer from Germany, and began LAST RITES in 1990. They released their first CD, which was accompanied by a screenplay for a movie/play that Cris wrote. This release was called LAST RITES "(music from) 'A Dream From The Heartland'". This CD took 5 years to make, and in 1995, got them their first record contract with the indie label, Reindeer Records. They soon picked up and moved to Florida to further this CD, but in 1997, after a few more member changes, Cris re-named the band CARNIVAL OF SOUL, after the KISS album, Carnival of Souls. The cover of their next release was a shot of the first home studio Cris had, which glorified his favorite band (of course), KISS. His extensive memorabilia collection was integrated into his studio, as it always does. His manager, Steve Geisenhof took a great shot of this studio, and Cris decided to make it the cover. This recording was released independently, and called "Persistance, No Excuses (and absolutely No Apologies)". This was in 1998. Another CD was in the works, doing ALL the recording at UNITY GAIN Studio, in Ft. Myers, Florida. Mastered by the genius of Anthony Ianucci, this CD was completed in 2004, and released independently, as well. It is the current CD they are trying to push internationally. The title is "Riding the Kharma Train", and can be purchased on GarageBand.com (www.GarageBand.com/artist/crisdcorridino), TowerRecords.com, and here on CDBaby.com. They currently have a song that is slowly moving up the Progressive Rock Charts Internationally, on GarageBand.com. At the time of this updated Bio (Feb. 26, 2006), the song "Braid" was at the #3 position, in Progressive Rock. Maybe success will catch up to Cris and Daniel, afterall. With 3 official CD's, 2 unreleased Studio CD's soon to be released (one is a solo effort from Cris, and the other is several songs that didn't make the 2nd release), and the current INCREDIBLE line-up, CARNIVAL OF SOUL will win your hearts, minds, and your ears! Welcome to the CARNIVAL; the first, and the ORIGINAL, Carnival!!!!! Rock On.
