FOLK: Modern Folk, COUNTRY: Country Folk
Details:
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Scott Cadenasso has been a fixture in the New Mexico music scene for nearly thirty years. He has been a principal member of several New Mexico bands spanning a broad pallette of genres. He was a founding member and singer in Albuquerquesâ popular Experimental Rock band âUbana Pistolaâ . In the mid-nineties he joined forces with Jeff Nelson in the punk-funk recording groupâFrizcatâ and started the Joots (an archaic computer-world acronym for jumping-out-of-the- system) record label. In the past ten years Cadenasso has honed his abilities as a solo artist performing his songs with acoustic guitar throughout the western states, he has been a finalist in such prestigious songwriting competitions as; The Telluride Troubador Contest, The Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Emerging Artists Showcase and The Napa Valley New Folk Competition to name a few.
In EDEN, Scott's second CD, the tapestry continues to unfold. From observations of a world spinning out of control to the plight of the perenially disenfranchised members of our society, to the wonders to be found in the little-traversed backwaters of America. EDEN reveals a great depth and breadth of topics and music.
STEVE TERRELL WRITES; "One of the most gooseflesh-inducing pieces of music I've heard in months...the sparse accompaniment led by the creep-show accordion of Ron Romanovsky, aided and abetted by Chuscales' flamenco guitar and Jon Gagan's bass. But it's Cadenasso's understatedly desperate vocals that strike deep as he sings lines such as "Then the ambulance left with what's left of George/ He's been drinking since his wife died, I won't say no more." He doesn't need to. The whole song is like a half remembered fragment of a forboding dream."
Instrumentation on EDEN also includes; pedal steel, electric guitar, drums and percussion to round out the arrangements with a sparse yet complete feel.
The thirteen songs on EDEN show-off SCOTT CADENASSO's talent as both a singer and songwriter very well and is a must have album for serious listeners of the contemporary acoustic music genre.
