Details:
The Carnival Band, based out of East Vancouver, Canada, performs with anywhere from a half dozen to two dozen members blending reggae, samba, jazz, ska, calypso, klezmer, and funk, with a plethora of horns, bass, guitar, violin, and various percussion.

Members have ranged in age from 8 to 62, and were born in Newfoundland, Manitoba, Ontario, Japan, Holland, England, Germany, Mongolia, the States, Mexico, Vietnam, France, and East Vanouver.

Since 1999 we've toured Canada and Europe, and played festivals, nightclubs, weddings, funerals, private parties, art openings, film wrap parties, parades, conventions and even a children's circus in Germany.

You can expect to see Marcos X (Ngoma, Shazzam, Ache Brasil, Junglemilk), Ross Barrett (Mock Duck), Tim Sars (The Winks, The Orange Monkeys, The Sweetpea Swingband), and Corinne Mundell (All Purpose, Proud Mary). Cameo appearances by guitar legend Mark Campbell (Roots Roundup, Ngoma, Sweatshop Union).

The group was first organised by Dan Vie, who has now stepped aside as his first child was just born!
