Details:
Calman Hart cut his musical teeth playing original songs in the honky tonk bars of Wyoming, Utah and Idaho before settling in San Diego. A longtime fan of bluegrass and country greats like Bill Monroe and Willie Nelson, Hart drew on these influences and launched a successful solo career. Hart released two critically acclaimed and award-winning records, and, in the process, was able to work with producer Bill Vorndick (Allison Krauss) and Nashville legends Jerry Douglas, Stuart Duncan, David Grier and Roy Husky, Jr.. Hart became well-known within the emerging San Diego coffeehouse scene, which included Steve Poltz and Jewel. It was within that circle that Hart met up with Berkley. The two soon found themselves collaborating and performing together. Berkley makes a prominent appearance on Hart's third album, "The John Boy Drum" and it was at Hart's encouragement that Berkley entered the Kerrville Songwriter contest. It wasn't long before their magical musical chemistry manifested itself into the current distillation of Berkley Hart.
