Cindy Stratton is a powerful singer and writer whose music is an evocative mix of contemporary acoustic/melodic influences with narrative lyrics about life and love.

The combination of her vocal dexterity and the musical territory she inhabits as a performer has led to comparisons with Joni Mitchell, Annie Lennox and Norah Jones. However, Cindy's voice is definitely unique. She has an extraordinary vocal range and an expressive feel for harmony, which is encapsulated by her latest CD 'Missing Pieces'.

Cindy rapidly immersed herself in the South West music scene having moved there as a teenager. She began touring folk clubs and live music venues, writing and performing her own material. Cindy is now regarded as "one of the best singer/songwriters to emerge from the West Country" (Venue Magazine).

Her credits include performing alongside Phil Collins at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in 1990. The following year, when Radio One and Our Price records ran a national song writing competition, Cindy made it into the final four out of over 4,000 entrants. This resulted in a live performance at the Marquee Club, broadcast on Radio One. Cindy was subsequently handpicked out of the finalists to record a performance for the (then) Nicky Campbell show on Radio One.

Cindy has appeared alongside many artists including Jools Holland, Richard Thompson and John Martyn. In addition, she has performed regularly on T.V. as well as at many prestigious music festivals, such as Glastonbury, Cambridge, and Womad.

In 1994 Cindy produced her first CD, 'Only You' to critical acclaim. Q Magazine reviewed "sparkling moments of melody" while Time Out said "Stratton is a force to be reckoned with".

Cindy's passionate interest in singing led her to train classically and she completed a BA Honours degree in Music at Bath Spa University in 2002. During that time she appeared in the European premiere of Robert Moran's opera 'Desert of Roses'

After a sell-out launch in Bath at the Rondo Theatre, Cindy is looking forward to reaching a wide audience with her outstanding new CD. In a market of transparently commercial sounds, 'Missing Pieces' stands out as the eloquent expression of a unique creativity.
